Overloaded servers and numerous verification problems have been noted. Skip the frustration and wait until around Oct 20th to do the setups. Give Apple time to work the bugs out. Most problems seems to be when users have multiple Apple IDs theat are associated with the same email addresses. This appears to be confusing the verification process.

A family can have one Apple ID to use for all there purchases and then each user can have their own personal Apple ID for the iCloud Apple ID for syncing.

Such as, iTunes ID, .MAC or MobileMe accounts, or your App store account. Some people have more than one. That is a problem. When we aere only purchasing iTunes it did not matter. No Apple tracks purchases from your account to your computr or mobile IOS device. If you purchase an App with one account ID, say the MobileMe one then when logged in a computer using another Account like the iTunes one then they will not match and show ALL your Apple purchases. With the iCloud on the horizon how will you share your information with all these accounts. YOU WON'T ! There is a light on the horizon, Apple is working on a way to merge all your current accoutns into one. Until then pick just one account and start using it exclusivley. Beter safe than sorry.

Macbook Pros announced

Apple has announced the released of a refreshed Macbook Pro lineup. Now you will be able to download your favorite applications directly from Apple. They will keep a record of your purchases like iTunes or the iOS Apps for handhelds. The internet connection lets you know what is installed on your computer or can be down loaded. Some developers (i.e., Pixelmator) have gone so far as to make the App store the ONLY means of getting the software. You can not obtain any Leopard Software as the App Store only works in Snow Leopard. Apple now makes it harder for users to keep older systems running. Developers will have no way to update your Tiger or Leopard software if only distributing through Apple's Mac App Store.

Like many users in the northwoods without highspeed access, or daily download limits of satellites you are no longer a valued customer of those software developers that only distribute through the Mac App Store.

The App Store is a great new technology, but when it is a one way street, not so good.

Safari 5 released

Update now available for download. Safari 5 ads more than a dozen HTML 5 features as we would expect with the Flash ban on Apple mobile devices. A new reader has been added to aid in reading articles. Even those spanning multiple pages. The article pops up in quick view fashion, infront of the browser so you can read the entire article without all the advertising junking things up. Great feature. Also added was the pre-searching of DNS names to load your next selection faster. Safari determines the website addresses before you ask, based on page links available. Increase up to 30% faster have been reported. Additional Javascript add ons help loading web pages faster also. I downloaded it tonight and so far I have been impressed with the new functions, and speed. Even with latency issues on a satellite connection it seems faster.
